Mold |

Mold can be found almost anywhere. Mold
can grow on almost any organic substance
such as wood, paper, carpet, food, and
insulation, as long as moisture and
oxygen are present. When excessive
moisture accumulates in buildings or on
building materials, mold will start to
grow.
Molds have the potential to produce
substances which cause allergic
reactions. There are no national, state,
or local regulations regarding mold
control.
Some municipalities may have code
enforcements or building departments
with some regulations |

Most people already
have mold detectors- their eyes and
nose. If you notice a fuzzy, black or
green discoloration that is in a
location that is wet or had been wet, it
is probably mold. If a building smells
musty, there probably is mold somewhere.
Mold inspections and consultations are
available in Kane County from private
companies.
