The Pharmaceutical Access Fund
(PAF) assists low-income patients with their medication
needs.
The PAF is a “Last Resort”
program that will supplement (not replace) strategies
that include discounting programs and pharmaceutical
company Patient Assistance Programs.
Eligible Patients will:
•
Have no insurance
•
Reside in Kane County
•
Have a valid prescription
•
Have a primary care physician who will complete the
paperwork required to secure medications in the
long-run.
The KCHAIN Pharmaceutical
Assistance Fund will:
•
Bridge the 30-45 day gap that
exists with most indigent program applications
•
Provide a resource to residents
who are unable to afford medications that are required
for acute conditions
•
Assist residents who have circumstances that lie outside
of the criteria for any other pharmaceutical program
The KCHAIN
Pharmaceutical Assistance Fund will
not:
•
Provide assistance for medications are that available
for $4 through local retail pharmacy programs
•
Cover controlled substances; select pain, anti-anxiety,
and depression drugs
•
Cover co-payments for medications
for individuals with insurance.
