Parent Information
If your child has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been identified as being in close contact with someone who has tested positive, you will receive a phone call from one of our contact tracers. After speaking with the contact tracer, you will receive health assessments for your child via email or text message. Make sure to complete the health assessments to ensure your child receives their isolation/quarantine release letter in a timely manner.
Students and staff with symptoms of COVID-19 or exposed to COVID-19 are to be tested in accordance with the regulatory requirements for performing POC testing. Diagnostic or screening test for SARS-CoV-2 with BinaxNOW antigen rapid test must be performed by an entity in compliance with CLIA regulations. Entities that perform POC testing must report each individual positive and negative test result to state and local public health officials, per the Control of Communicable Disease Code. Kane County Health Department discourages families from using at-home test kits as these tests do not follow CLIA regulations. An at-home test kit can delay release for staff or children to return to school within the appropriate time frame.

Si su hijo obtuvo un resultado positivo de la prueba de COVID-19 o se ha identificado que está en contacto cercano con alguien que ha dado positivo a la prueba, usted recibirá una llamada telefónica de uno de nuestros rastreadores de contactos. Después de hablar con el rastreador de contactos, usted recibirá una evaluación de salud para su hijo por correo electrónico o mensaje de texto.
