Emergency Alerts
When an emergency happens, local public safety officials use emergency alert systems to share important information and instructions with residents. Find your community’s emergency alert system and sign up to receive alerts. If your community is not listed, sign up for Kane County’s emergency notification system.
Additional Alerts/Notifications
Additional emergency alerts can be turned on in your phone setting. You are not charged for receiving these alerts, and there is no need to subscribe.
- iPhone: Settings > notifications > scroll to the bottom > turn on/off alerts (Amber Alerts, Emergency, Public Safety, and Test Alerts)
- Android: Settings > Safety & Emergency > Wireless Emergency Alerts > ‘Allow Alerts’
