La Voz de Esperanza

La Voz de Esperanza is a community-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening family mental health and creating safe spaces for healing, connection, and growth in Kane County, IL.

Founded by certified women leaders, many with over 7 years of training and work in the community, we provide free mental health programs primarily in Spanish, addressing the critical need for accessible and culturally relevant services. Select programs are also available in English.

Mission

To strengthen family mental health through information, services, resources, and support that promote emotional well-being.

Services

  • Parent Cafés: Structured conversation spaces where parents and caregivers gather to reflect, share experiences, and support one another around parenting and family life.
  • Healing Circles: Inspired by ancestral traditions, Healing Circles provide emotional and community support facilitated by trained Latina community healers certified by the International Institute for Restorative Practices.
  • Emotional Art: A safe space where families can explore their emotions through creativity. The program is open to all ages, requires no artistic experience, and is designed to strengthen family connection while encouraging emotional expression.
  • NAMI Support Groups: In partnership with NAMI KDK (National Alliance on Mental Illness – Kane South, DeKalb & Kendall Counties), NAMI Connection is a free, peer-led support group for adults experiencing mental health conditions. The group provides a safe and confidential space where participants can share their experiences, gain coping skills, and build hope through connection. Sessions are led by individuals with lived experience and follow a structured model to ensure everyone has the opportunity to be heard.
