The Living Room is a mental health crisis alternative for adults offered by AID. It is a comfortable, non-clinical space that offers an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for those experiencing stressful and anxiety-provoking situations (psychiatric emergencies) so that they can be resolved without more intensive intervention.

Adolescents typically complete between one and six hours of programming a week, depending on their needs and preferences. Participation in adolescent group is strongly encouraged to facilitate peer group learning and support. Individualized treatment planning addresses issues such as schooling, employment, psychosocial development, family support, readiness to change, and transportation, as appropriate to each individual.

Hope for Tomorrow, Inc. is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit social services agency that operates three (3) highly-structured, clinically-guided, substance-free homes for men, in Kane County, Illinois, for thirty-seven adults suffering from the disease of mental health (post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, and major depressive disorders) and/or chronic substance use disorders (alcohol, opiates, cocaine, prescription pain medications…).

The groups are aimed at processing grief, increasing support, and helping individuals build healthy coping skills as they work through their loss. The group is not a drop-in group and is structured to be completed with cohorts of no more than 8. All individuals starting the group together will end the group together, which keeps the dynamic of the group constant throughout and allows individuals to build comfortability and support with others in the group. The Kane County Sheriff's Office special victims unit serves the unincorporated area of Kane County. The special victims unit umbrellas senior services, serious crimes against minors, domestic violence and sexual assault victims. The SVU focuses on investigating crimes, as well as offers social work support for community members in need of services. These services include: mental health support, substance use, juvenile complaints, hoarding, homelessness, veteran assistance, and any case requiring social services.
The KCSO also offers the A Way Out program, which provides substance abuse assessment 24/7 to anyone in Kane County that wishes to seek recovery. Appropriate inpatient or outpatient referral and placement are determined by assessment and based on availability. If you are unable to pay for treatment due to a lack of insurance or financial resources, you will not be turned away from participation in the program. Kane County works with providers that are able to accept a number of different insurance plans and accommodate those without insurance.
