Fostering Success

​Founded in 2021 to address the needs of youth in the foster system and other families with teens in crisis (facing homelessness, food scarcity, lack of parental guidance, etc.) in order to provide them with the best chance of becoming independent and successful adults. Youth aged 13-24 are paired with an adult mentor for assistance in gaining life skills, confidence building, school attendance, and access to services that the family may need to maintain adequate housing, utilities and food. ​

​Fox Valley Hands of Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing expert support for children, families, and adults who are experiencing grief due to a death loss.  We offer individual grief counseling, as well as drop-in groups, support groups, school programs, and special-interest programs throughout the year, at no cost to our clients.

Kane County Health Department Kane Kares Nurse Family Partnership

​Kane Kares-Nurse Family Partnership empowers first-time moms to transform their lives and create better futures for themselves and their babies. Specially trained nurses visit first time moms beginning in pregnancy and continuing through the child's second birthday.​
A nurse provides parent support, education and resources until the child's second birthday.

Kane County ROE: McKinney Vento (Homeless) Program

Works with Kane County School Districts to assist in removing barriers for families in homeless situations (including doubled up because of economic reasons) to enroll, attend and stay stable at school. Assistance with basic needs and that which is needed to ensure students have access to receive education services. This program also provides McKinney-Vento training to schools and agencies​.

​The YWCA Elgin offers FREE English as a Second Language Classes (ESL) to adults that want to improve their English. Our classes include the spoken language, writing, use of computers and tablets, group activities involving public issues, job readiness, basic health education, and information about how to managing money. Our free Family Literacy program includes our regular English as a Second Language classes Monday through Thursday for adult students while their children attend ESL preschool. On Friday, the parent and child join together for special activities.​
